According to Kirsch et al. (2002), "Reading practice is the best predictor of overall academic achievement, even more than socioeconomic status or ethnicity." It also leads to a growth mindset! According to this video, provided by Renaissance, students who are reading toward reading goals achieve more than their peers without goals, exhibit higher levels of comprehension and demonstrate higher level of achievement.
